Natural Skincare for Baby

Posted by Customer Service on

If you are a new parent, then you’ve just met the love of your life in your precious newborn. Now that he or she is the centre of your world, nurturing them is the purpose of your life. There are so many things to learn about caring for a child, and taking care of their delicate skin may be a new challenge for you.

Babies have incredibly sensitive skin. It’s not used to handling chemicals or irritants the way adult skin is. To keep your baby’s skin soft, supple and healthy we recommend going all natural with extremely gentle ingredients. It’s very easy for a baby to develop rashes and eczema, so follow our tips to help prevent irritation and promote skin health and vitality.

Cleanse with Soothing Aloe

Your baby will be exposed to brand new chemicals every day that may irritate their skin. Using a cleanser and shampoo with soothing ingredients like Aloe Vera and naturally-derived Calendula will help calm inflamed skin. Our Wash &  Bubble is mild enough to use in each bath to calm inflammation and keep skin healthy.

Use our Wash every time you change your baby’s diaper to keep their bottoms clean. Make sure to dry skin thoroughly each time to prevent diaper rash.

Hydrate with Oatmeal and Shea Butter

Baby’s skin can get dry and chaffed really easily. To keep your little one feeling comfortable, apply a light, natural lotion 2-3 times per day. Massage the lotion in well to avoid leaving moisture in skin folds, which can cause a rash. Our  Body Lotion is a nurturing and healing lotion made with oatmeal to soothe inflammation, shea butter to deeply hydrate, and a cocktail of supportive amino acids to nurture healthy skin.

Use Diluted Essential Oils to Calm Irritation

Babies are sensitive to essential oils, but if they are properly diluted with a carrier oil, they can be very calming. It’s important to wait until they are 3+ months old before using essential oils topically. Once they are old enough, Lavender and Chamomile Blue essential oil are great for treating eczema and dryness. Combine 1 drop of essential oil to 1 oz. of carrier oil for a safe and nurturing skin treatment.

Diffusing certain essential oils help improve your baby’s sleep as well. Learn our tips for diffusing at bed and nap time here.
